E.D. Arrington, affectionately called Lois, is the mother of one daughter and one precious granddaughter. She is the author of the Next Generation Indie Finalist, Stay The Course, On The Edge, Forever Was A Day, and Words of Comfort: A Collection of Poems and Inspirational Writings that includes the award-winning poem An Ending Of A Similar Kind; and a CD of select poems set to music. The founder of It’s Time To Read With Me! – a read-aloud enrichment literary program, Arrington has captivated youth and adults alike with her spellbinding book readings.
The fourth of seven siblings, she was raised on a farm in the rural South by her adoptive parents (maternal grandparents) Tom and Eva Brown Arrington, who sacrificed until their deaths to open the door to her real freedom – Education. Arrington is often asked what she considers her best work. “Until, now,” Arrington responds, “I could not choose a favorite because I loved and enjoyed them all. But in this present moment, I can say unequivocally that Rise of the Wolverines: The Making of a Titan Beyond is my most rewarding. The holistic experience of exploring, discussing, and chronicling the life of Coach Gene was priceless.”
E.D. Arrington credits her outlook on life to one of her grandmother’s most spoken mantras: “Don’t ever stop learning.” Another, and possibly most important, lesson Arrington believes will be passed on in writing the memoir that has reacquainted her with Collin Eugene (Coach Gene) Arrington, the man, coach, husband, father and the younger brother she fought with every Saturday night no sooner than her parents left home to gather weekly groceries: “If you can make a difference in but one life then you have given life your best.” Coach Gene made a difference in the lives of many; and I hope that after you journey through the pages of Rise of the Wolverines: The Making of a Titan and Beyond, your life will have changed…for the better.
